Harborview Behavioral Health Institute is hosting its 5th annual Re-Imagining Behavioral Health: Race, Equity & Social Justice Conference, from September 26-27, 2024. Conference registration opens June 2024. 

The conference, which remains virtual and free of cost, serves as a pivotal platform for sharing insights, practices, and policies aimed at advancing equity and social justice within our communities and the behavioral health sphere. 

With an expected audience of over 1,000 attendees from both Washington state and across the nation, this conference presents a unique opportunity to share your knowledge, inspire others, and contribute to meaningful discussions surrounding race, equity, and social justice in behavioral health.

About the Conference 

Integrated care is a crucial component of the behavioral health ecosystem. Supporting our patients and care teams in integrated care requires critical innovations, rethinking approaches and strengthening systems. In this conference, distinguished keynote speakers, thought leaders, and community voices will lead a variety of sessions and workshops to discuss ideas and generate solutions. Join a community of partners to share ideas, learn about community-level innovations relevant to integrated care, and help improve behavioral healthcare and health equity in the State of Washington and beyond.

The University of Washington Advancing Integrated Mental Health Solutions (AIMS) Center and the Integrated Care Training Program (ICTP) are sponsoring this opportunity to learn about and discuss community-level innovations relevant to integrated care. More information about the conference.

Say It Out Loud (SIOL) Conference

The Say It Out Loud (SIOL) Conference focuses on information sharing and networking to improve behavioral health services and decrease disparities faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ+) individuals. The conference strives to provide space to educate and share knowledge with attendees to better serve and support LGBTQ+ individuals and their families. Dialogue is encouraged across all topics that touch and impact individuals including understanding how difference with regards to gender identity and sexuality impact overall behavioral and physical health, self-determination and well-being. All are welcome. Attendees in the past have included professionals from many areas such as behavioral health (mental health and substance use) across all ages and populations, non-profit agencies who serve LGBTQ+ individuals and families, child welfare, education, criminal justice, etc. The conference has had continued success and growth year after year and the goal of the conference is to continue making an impact in the lives of individuals for years to come. The conference is sponsored by the Health Care Authority (HCA), Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR).
